Unnecessary Microwave Radiation

Image from Smart Meter Education Network

On Tuesday, October 4, 2016, I spoke again to the City Commissioners of Battle Creek during the three minute General Public Comment time:

Every 14 seconds the new, so-called "smart" water meters the City of Battle Creek Water Department has been installing, send pulses of radio frequency radiation, per Perry Hart from the Water Department.  That's over 6,000 pulses of electromagnetic energy per day from "smart" water meters alone.

Add the over 15,000 pulses per day from new SEMCO Energy AMR ERT gas meters, and we're being zapped over 21,000 times per day from gas and water public utility meters alone.

New Consumers Energy "smart" meters, also known as "advanced" meters (they keep changing the name), will zap us even more.

The citizens of Battle Creek are being involuntarily and chronically exposed to unnecessary electromagnetic energy emitted by the "smart" meters you are in approval of.

Since you have not been able to provide proof these new meters are safe for humans, let alone the birds and the bees, have you looked into your liability for approving this unsafe technology?

Andrew A. Marino, Ph.D., wrote the book (co-authored the study), “Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity: Evidence for a Novel Neurological Syndrome.”

Dr. Marino also submitted an expert report in a recent smart meter lawsuit here in the United States that probably no one has heard about because smart meter lawsuits are not reported in mainstream media news.

Dr. Marino testified:

“... [there] is a reasonable basis in established science for the Complainants’ concern regarding risks to human health caused by man-made electromagnetic energy in the environment, including the type of electromagnetic energy emitted by smart meters.  These health risks are heightened in the very young, the very old, and in those with preexisting diseases or disorders."

"... electromagnetic hypersensitivity is a documented neurological condition in which the affected person experiences musculoskeletal, immunological, and/or neurological symptoms that noticeably flare or intensify upon exposure to man-made electromagnetic energy in the environment."

Public utility meters never bathed us in radio frequency radiation.  Until now, that is.  Until smart meters, advanced meters, AMR ERT meters.

This is unnecessary radio frequency radiation, in the microwave range.

So I ask you again:  If the City of Battle Creek is to error in regards to Public Health, is it not best you error on the side of caution?

Thank you for listening.  May you all be blessed!

Inadvertent Activists

This is what I said to the City Commissioners of Battle Creek at the City Commission meeting on Tuesday, September 20, 2016:

New, non-analog public utility meters are sometimes called smart meters, digital meters, AMR ERT, advanced meters, or upgraded meters.  These new meters have inadvertently created a growing number of activists speaking out against them.  The issues include privacy, cyber security, explosions and fires, safety, inaccuracy, over-charges, and health complaints.

New non-analog/smart metering technology has never been subject to human safety testing.

On the website wearetheevidence.org, you will see testimonies from all kinds of people, from medical doctors, attorneys, teachers, musicians, all who have one thing in common: They developed electromagnetic hyper sensitivity caused by electromagnetic fields.

New public utility meters all generate electromagnetic fields in the radiofrequency radiation range, and thereby increase everyone's chances of developing this potentially fatal condition.

Old analog public utility meters do NOT create electromagnetic fields.

The BioInitiative Report, with 29 authors, mostly medical doctors and PhD's, states:
"Bioeffects are clearly established and occur at very low levels of exposure to electromagnetic fields and radiofrequency radiation."
Radiofrequency radiation is emitted by SEMCO Energy's new gas meters, Consumers Energy's new electric meters, and the City of Battle Creek's new water meters.  Battle Creek's Perry Hart (the Director of Public Works) told us the new water meters pulse this radiation every 14 seconds.  That's over 6,000 pulses per day of radiation from water meters alone!

Michigan is no stranger to health complaints from new non-analog public utility meters, as evidenced by the Michigan OversightCommittee hearing in 2014.

We are asking for something very simple: To keep the old, safe, time-tested analog public utility meters on our homes without penalty.  Analog meters have been used for approximately 100 years without issue.

No one complained about analog meters, not even the utility companies.  That is, until smart meters came along.  That's when utility companies started to complain.  They needed an excuse to "fix" what wasn't broken.

Thank you for listening.  May you all be blessed.

Burden of Proof

To the City Commission of Battle Creek, on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, I quoted parts of this letter written to the North Carolina Utility Commission, and said:

The precautionary principle states that the introduction of a new product or process whose ultimate effects are disputed or unknown should be resisted.  It is a form of risk management, with the intention of reducing risk.  If an action or policy has a suspected risk of causing harm to the public or the environment, in the absence of scientific consensus, the burden of proof that it is not harmful falls on those taking the action.  Which would be all of you in regards to smart metering technology.

This is a letter, co-authored by a group of scientists and health professionals who together have co-authored many peer-reviewed studies on the health effects of radiofrequency radiation.

"The majority of scientific literature related to radiofrequency radiation stems from cell phone studies.  There is strong evidence that people who use a cell phone held directly to their ear for more than 10 years are at significantly increased risk of developing gliomas of the brain and acoustic neuromas of the auditory nerve."
"Smart meters and cell phones occupy similar frequency bands of the electromagnetic spectrum, meaning that cell phone research can apply to smart meter radiofrequency radiation.  Smart meter radiofrequency radiation consists of frequent very intense but very brief pulses throughout the day.  Because smart meter exposure is over a 24 hour period, it can be very prolonged.  Pulses can average 9,600 times a day... and because there is building evidence that the sharp high-intensity pulses are particularly harmful, the cell phone study findings are applicable when discussing adverse health impacts from smart meters."
"While the strongest evidence for hazards coming from radiofrequency radiation is for cancer, there is a growing body of evidence that some people develop a condition called electromagnetic hypersensitivity. "

I did, once smart meters were installed where I live.

"These individuals respond to being in the presence of radiofrequency radiation with a variety of symptoms including headaches...."

These professionals have said:

"There is absolutely no safe level of exposure established for radiofrequency radiation."

So, given this information from these educated professionals and their studies, the burden of proof of safety is now on all of you.  So where is your proof that smart meters are indeed safe?

Thank you for listening.  May you all truly be blessed.

(End of three minute "General Public Comment")

Speaking of "burden of proof," I've come across a couple of new websites with more scientific studies on radiofrequency radiation:

"We Are The Evidence"

Angel of Truth photograph by Nicholas Miller found here

Last night at the Battle Creek City Commission meeting I shared summaries of some of the public comments from the Michigan Oversight Committee Hearing on Smart Meters, December 2014.  What I shared was from just a few of the many people who testified to adverse health effects from smart meters.

If I spelled someone's name incorrectly that you know of, please let me know.

This was my three-minute "General Public Comment" to the commissioners:
I recently sent you all a link to the video of the Michigan Oversight Committee Hearing on smart meters, December 2, 2014.  I would like to read a summary of a few of the comments.
Lori Ebaugh, Milford, MI:  Didn't know a smart meter had been installed, started to experience heart palpitations, heart arrhythmia, insomnia, high-pitched ringing in her ears.
Carol Garcia, Rochester Hills, MI:  Was very healthy.  Became "deadly sick" after 2 to 3 months of smart meter exposure.  Symptoms: "Every day" bloody nose, headache, vertigo, nausea, chest palpitations, insomnia, fatigue.  Three of her doctors want smart meters removed from her house immediately.
Melissa Cardon, Muskegon County, MI:  Her husband started to experience more frequent epileptic seizures, inability to sleep and neuropathy in his legs.  Both experienced elevated blood pressure.  They are low income, so the opt-out fees are significant for them.
April Jones, Shelby Township, MI:  Headaches, sharp pains in her head, dizziness, insomnia, extreme fatigue, depression, anxiety, agitation, nausea, joint and muscle pain, memory issues, palpitations, chest pains, arrhythmia, shortness of breath, became bedridden.  Can not live in a facility with a smart meter.
Linda Kurtz from Michigan's Smart Meter Education Network submitted a comment about 60% of the people who've called her with smart meter health complaints didn't know a smart meter had been installed when they began to experience their symptoms.
"We are the evidence..."
This is only a small fraction of the people who testified on December 2, yet our utility companies continue to install smart meters.  These people are the evidence something is gravely wrong.
This is not a matter of the science catching up with technology, because the science is available.  I've shared numerous articles and quotes with you, and now "reliable diseasebiomarkers characterizing and identifying electrohypersensitivity" has been studied and identified.
This is a matter of mainstream acceptance of the truth of electrohypersensitivity and smart meters.
Smart meter opt-out fees are discriminatory.  And it's troubling the only concern the City Attorney of Battle Creek expressed in regards to all the Michigan lawsuits involving smart meters, was whether or not any of them had been upheld.
If you are truly concerned about the safety of all the citizens in Battle Creek, which you had expressed (earlier in the meeting), Mayor Walters, please, help stop this and support House Bill 4916, Analog Utility Meter Choice legislation.
Thank you for listening.  May you all truly be blessed.

For more information about electrohypersensitivity, please see:

If you live in Michigan and would like to support legislation that allows all utility customers the choice to keep analog public utility meters, please see:

Corporatocracy & Smart Metering

The Angel of Grief - sculpture by William Wetmore Store 1894

Tonight's comment to the City of Battle Creek City Commission:
In 2013 I had to stop putting a cell phone to my ear because of pain I felt when I did. The pain went away, but returned in 2015.  I was still not putting a cell phone to my ear, so it confused me as to why the pain returned.
In November of 2014 our gas company, SEMCO Energy, installed two new gas meters where I live.  Both installers assured us these new meters were NOT "smart" meters, and they only transmitted once per month for meter readings.   Given that information, we allowed the installations.
When the pain returned to my "phone" ear without cell phone use, it didn't immediately occur to me that the gas company had not told us the whole truth.  Then, I started researching new gas meters, which lead me to calling the company.
Dave Williams, SEMCO's Regional Operation Manager, told me via email that the new meters transmit 1.5 minutes per day in 5.86 millisecond bursts.  When you do the math, that figures out to over 600 bursts per hour, and over 10 bursts per minute, of microwave radiation, the same frequency cell phones operate on.  No wonder my cell phone ear started to hurt again.
We requested SEMCO remove the microwave radiation transmitting meters and replace them with non-transmitting analog meters.  They could remove the new meters, but shut off our gas service.
I contacted the Michigan Public Service Commission, but they were of no help.  So I contacted the Better Business Bureau, but they were of no help.  So I contacted the Attorney General's office, but they were of no help.
That is why I am asking the City of Battle Creek to join a growing number of Michigan communities that support House Bill 4916, Utility Meter Choice Legislation, that will allow public utility customers to keep analog meters without having to pay extortion fees.
If you've listened to the 100's of testimonies from Michigan residents about adverse health effects experienced after smart meter installation, you would realize the gravity of this situation.
Or, do the roots of corporatocracy extend all the way down into Battle Creek local government?
Thank you for listening.  May all beings be blessed!

What Are Your Credentials?

City Commissioners of Battle Creek - Image from here

To the City Commissioners of Battle Creek, Tuesday, July 5, 2015, I said:
What are your credentials that authorize you to disagree with hundreds of scientific studies done by independent world-renowned researchers?  Are you willing to be held personally accountable should you be sued by those of us harmed by transmitting public utility meters?

On May 22, 2015, Dr. David O. Carpenter, submitted testimony to the Michigan Public Service Commission in regards to Case No U-17767, one of the many ongoing smart meter lawsuits here in Michigan.

Dr. Carpenter is a public health physician with specialties in environmental health and disease prevention.  He is Director of the Institute for Health and the Environment, University at Albany, State University of New York, which is a Collaborating Centre of the World Health Organization.

Dr. Carpenter and his colleagues have been studying the effects of low-level non ionizing radiation for decades.  I will quote a few lines from his testimony:

"I am concerned with the health costs imposed on customers in consequence of the radio transmitters in smart meters and also in consequence of the power quality issues, sometimes called 'dirty electricity' generated by the power supplies used in these meters."

"Diminished health for a minority of the population, probably diminished life expectancy for the majority, probable genetic damage..."

"Widespread deployment (of smart meters) cannot be justified... based on the peer-reviewed research...  universal deployment of such meters throughout our urban areas amount to an experiment on the people... without the consent of the experimental subjects."

"...there is a strong body of evidence that demonstrates a variety of adverse health effects, including cancer and effects on brain and behavior, coming from exposure to radiofrequency radiation like that generated by wireless smart meters."

So please tell me, what are your credentials that authorize you to disagree?  Are you willing to be held 100% accountable for your approval of transmitting, wireless, AMI, AMR, Digital, Advanced, smart public utility meters?
Thank you for listening.  May you truly be blessed.

Agreeing to Disagree

My general public comment to the City of Battle Creek City Commissioners on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, went as follows:

I met a retired police officer, now a security guard at our State Capitol in Lansing, who advised me that Chief Blocker (the Battle Creek Chief of Police) could help keep unsafe smart meters (AMI and AMR ERT meters) off our homes.  I hope that is true!

Battle Creek seems to be having a hard time calling new public utility meters "smart meters," as evidenced by this March story:  Water Division on schedule with new device installation.  Nowhere in the article is the word "smart" used.

This chart (above) shows that smart meters and cell phones operate in the same range, 900MHz to 2.4GHz.

Perry Hart, Director of Public Works here is Battle Creek has confirmed that the smart meters they are installing for water service operate within this frequency as well.  (See page 9 here.)  He also explained how the new water meters pulse 257 times per hour, non-stop.  (Mr. Hart's presentation explained how the new water meters pulse every 14 seconds, which translates to 257 times per hour.)

Unlike cell phones, which can be turned off, smart meters are never "off,' which is why radiation expert Daniel Hirsch says one smart meter may be like being exposed to 50 or more cell phones.

We haven't heard it from the Battle Creek Enquirer, yet, but there's been lots of news stories about a new study that links cell phone use to cancer:

Scientific American:  Major cell phone radiation study reignites cancer questions
Physics Today:  Wall Street Journal trumpets "explosive finding" on cell phones and cancer
TIME:  Cell phone-cancer link seen in rat study
WNCN in Raleigh, NC:  Doctor says cell phone use linked to cancer in rats
Oxford University Press:  US government's premiere test program finds cancer risk from cell phone radiation: a game-changing global wake-up call

Children are more vulnerable to cell phone and smart meter radiation because their skulls are thinner and smaller, allowing the radiation to penetrate deeper into tissues.

Both Commissioner Sherzer and Commissioner Gray have said to me that we need to agree to disagree on this issue.

When I agree to disagree with you, my decision basically only affects me.

When you (the City Commissioners of Battle Creek) agree to disagree with me, your decision affects every man, woman, and child in Battle Creek.

House Bill 4916 (the Utility Meter Choice Bill in Michigan) has fourteen co-sponsors in Lansing, both Democrats and Republicans.  Please support this potentially live-saving legislation.

Smart Meters & Denial

To the City Commissioners of Battle Creek, on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, I said:
I am one who became very sick from pulsed microwave radiation.  My symptoms began before knowing that radiation emitting public utility meters had been installed.
Since connecting my symptoms with the radiation emitting public utility meters, I've been researching this subject.
I've seen 100's of video testimonies of perhaps 1000's of people, from New York state to California, and many points in-between, and it's so interesting, because we don't know each other, but we are all saying the same or similar things, to people like you: city commissions, state governments, public utility commissions.
I'm not the only one to experience a plethora of symptoms, the most common being: Insomnia, heart palpitations, anxiety and stress, unusual headaches, rashes, muscle cramps and twitches, extreme fatigue, balance problems and other neurological issues.
And I'm not the only one who began to improve after radiation emitting public utility meters were either removed, or shielded.
I'm not the only one to ask for proof of safety or data results from human safety testing with pulsed microwave radiation emitting public utility meters, to no avail from people like you.
I'm not the only one to quote valiant doctors, medical professionals, scientists, engineers, electricians, and other professionals who are the first in the world to speak out against all of this wireless radiation we've suddenly been exposed to.
I'm not the only one to ask for a halt to smart meter installations based upon not only my experience, but 1000's of published peer-reviewed studies that prove biological harm is being done by the pulsed microwave radiation from new public utility meters.
And unfortunately, and astonishingly, you are not the only ones to take little or no meaningful action in response to requests from people like me.
During Commission Comments, Commissioner Gray once again brought up documentation the City of Battle Creek has regarding smart meters.  The City Manager indicated they had already provided everything they have.  Everything they have does not include human safety testing with smart meters, or any actual safety testing, at all.

After the Commission meeting, Commissioner Gray was walking by me, so I stopped her and told her that all the information the City had forwarded to me was inconclusive, and that there has been no human safety testing done with smart meters.

Her response was something about agreeing to disagree.

The above video is from the December 2, 2014 Michigan Oversight Committee Hearing on smart meters, and was apparently the last time public testimony about health complaints from smart meters was allowed in Michigan.  About 200 people spoke against smart meters at this one hearing, most of them citing health complaints that began after smart meter installation.

The woman who begins speaking at about 9 minutes in had a very similar experience as myself and countless others, not just in the United States, but from all over the world.  Many people worldwide are talking about negative health experiences after smart meter installation.

If you only listen to a few minutes of the above video, I suggest listening to the woman who starts speaking at about 40 minutes in, Cynthia Edwards, who quotes Linda Kurtz from the Smart Meter Education Network in Michigan.  Linda has spoken with numerous people regarding health effects from smart meters, and we're all saying the same, or very similar things.  Yet utility companies continue to install smart meters, or shut-off power, water, or natural gas if we don't want their smart meter or their unsafe opt-out meter.

Smart meters add to unnecessary non-ionizing microwave radiofrequency radiation in our environment.  We have not gone one generation with this level of man-made radiation, which is why it seems to me that health impacts people are experiencing right now need to be recognized if we are to avoid a potential health crisis.

Remember, it was "fringe" doctors who first started saying that cigarette smoking may be harmful to health.  Now there are "fringe" doctors, scientists, engineers, and other professionals warning us about adverse health impacts from wireless radiation.  How long will we stay in denial about it?

"A world that recognizes the value of every single life is a world coming out of denial."

Pushing The Limits

Tonight's comment to the Battle Creek City Commission:
This is a chart of outdoor pulsed radio frequency radiation exposure limits, a country comparison, measured in micro-watts per centimeter squared:
Image from Environmental Health Trust

The following cities and countries allow 10 or less micro-watts per centimeter squared of pulsed radiation:
Paris, Poland, Italy, Russia, Lithuania, China, Switzerland... they actually have two categories, one for "general" and one for "schools and hospitals," the Ukraine, Belgium, Luxembourg, Bulgaria, Liechtenstein, and Salzburg.
The next two countries allow double that:
India and Israel.
And the last three countries allow one-hundred times that of the first group:
The US, Canada, and Australia.
Perhaps we've all done it, made a decision based upon not enough information.

When wireless and smart meters were introduced, public utility companies gave us very little information about them.
Public utility companies told us that wireless and smart meters were safe because they fell within certain limits set by certain agencies.
What we were not told was that here in the United States, we have the world's highest allowable limits of pulsed radio frequency radiation exposure.
We were also not told that never before in our recorded history had we been continuously exposed to the levels of pulsed radio frequency radiation we would be exposed to when wireless and smart meters were installed on our homes.
If the precautionary principle were followed, we would have much more stringent guidelines for pulsed radio frequency radiation.
Sunday night I sent all of you information about several more communities in Michigan who have just recently passed Resolutions modeling House Bill 4916, the Utility Meter Choice Bill, allowing public utility customers to opt-out of wireless and smart meters, and to keep analog utility meters without having to pay extra fees to do so. I also sent you a video of testimonies from several other people here in Michigan reporting adverse health effects.
These communities that are passing Resolutions modeling House Bill 4916 are exercising the precautionary principle for their citizens.
Isn't it time the City of Battle Creek do the same, before more people are harmed by wireless and smart meters here?  Because, as you can see by this chart, we really are pushing the limits!
Thank you for listening ~ may we all truly be blessed!

For the Health, Safety & Welfare of the Citizens

After finding out about all the Resolutions that have recently been passed, modeling House Bill 4916, Utility Meter Choicevia Michigan's Smart Meter Education Network newsletter, I wrote the City of Battle Creek officials about it last night:

Dear Mayor Walters, Vice Mayor Baldwin, Commissioner Owens, Commissioner Gray, Commissioner Flores, Commissioner Sherzer, Commissioner Behnke, Commissioner Faris, and Commissioner Helmboldt,
On April 28, 2016, the County of Lapeer, Michigan, passed a Resolution modeling HB4916 for Utility Meter Choice with no-fees for opt-out.  Here is a copy of their Resolution:  http://bit.ly/1XdoXpt
This is a video of the Lapeer County Commission meeting on April 28, 2016.  Testimony regarding health effects from wireless/smart meters begins at about 8 minutes, then the Commissioners discuss the Resolution, and pass it:  http://bit.ly/1Tioksg
Brown City, within Lapeer County, passed their own Resolution on May 9, 2016, also modeling HB4916 for Utility Meter Choice with no-fees for opt-out.  Here is a copy of their Resolution:  http://bit.ly/1OtVx4X
On May 10, 2016, Marathon Township also passed a strong Resolution modeling HB4916.  Here is a copy of that:  http://bit.ly/253EtdL
These are counties and communities that are concerned about the health effects from wireless/smart meters and are taking action.  I urge you to also pass a Resolution modeling HB4916, to give all public utility customers the choice to keep their old analog utility meter that had none of the concerns wireless/smart meters have, without having to pay additional fees to do so.
Wireless/smart meters nearly killed me.  That is why I am so passionate about this issue.  It is becoming more and more clear that I'm not the only one in Michigan who has experienced adverse health effects from wireless/smart meters.
Will you please pass a Resolution modeling HB4916, as more and more communities in Michigan are doing, for the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens?
Sincerely,
Jeanine Deal

This morning I heard back from one of the Commissioners, Kate Flores, thanking me for my passion and continued efforts, and that she would review what I sent.  So far, she is the only one to respond...

Thank you for reading ~ May we all truly be blessed!

Smart Meter Opt-Out Fees: Keeping Out of Harms Way Through Extortion

Image from Environmental Health Trust
Note how the USA, Australia & Canada limits far exceed other countries

This is what I said during the City of Battle Creek's City Commission meeting's General Public Comment time tonight, May 3, 2016:
In 2009, wireless subscribers reached an all-time high of 91% of the US population.  That was just seven years ago.  And now, our environment continues to become more and more saturated in electromagnetic radiation, from cell towers, antenna, and wireless devices, including gas, electric, and water smart meters.
Electromagnetic hypersensitive was first called "radio wave sickness" by Russian doctors who were treating an occupational illness developed by many employees exposed to microwave or radio frequency radiation.
Smart meters emit radio-frequency radiation in the microwave range, and many people, like me, unaware that a smart meter was installed on their home, quite suddenly begin developing symptoms of "radio wave sickness" electromagnetic hypersensitive: headaches, insomnia, fatigue, muscle aches, ringing in the ears, rashes, cognitive disturbances, and balance problems; though for some the symptoms take longer to develop.
Sweden recognizes electromagnetic hypersensitivity as a "functional impairment," because it is caused by the environment.  In 2004, about 250,000 people in Sweden had been identified as electro-sensitive.  Spain classifies electromagnetic hypersensitivity as a "permanent disability."  And France names electromagnetic fields as the cause for not only electromagnetic hypersensitivity, but various forms of cancer, stating that children are the most vulnerable.
The World Health Organization has recognized electromagnetic hypersensitivity as a "non-specific, multi-system illness," and has classified electromagnetic fields as possibly causing cancer, but has not connected the two.
With the smart meter roll-out, we are being exposed to unnecessary electromagnetic radiation.  Why is this being allowed to happen?
Follow the money...
Governments have received enormous sums of money from the telecom industry to help finance this smart meter roll-out.  Telecom has done their own studies, but they are inconclusive as to whether or not smart meters harm us, though tens of thousand of independent studies DO show harm.
This is why it is so important that you pass a Resolution modeling House Bill 4916, so we can opt-out of smart meters and their harm without having to pay what amounts to extortion fees to do so.
Thank you for listening.  May we all truly be blessed!

Requesting A Resolution

Image from EMR Aware Newsletter

April 19, 2016, to the City of Battle Creek City Commission I said:
I'm here to ask you to pass a Resolution, as most recently Marysville, Michigan did, and now Columbiaville, Michigan has.   A Resolution modeling Michigan House Bill 4916, the Utility Meter Choice Bill, that allows all public utility customers to opt-out of wireless metering technology, commonly known as smart metering, though wireless gas meters are neither "smart," nor called "smart."  Wireless gas meters are called AMR meters, and like other wireless public utility meters, they pulse radio frequency radiation in the microwave range 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, non-stop.
On April 11th, just over one week ago, the village of Columbiaville, Michigan, northeast of Lansing, joined the growing list of Michigan communities to pass Resolutions supporting their citizens in their desire to have a free choice in regards to wireless public utility metering.
Citing privacy concerns, Columbiaville's Resolution states:"Smart meters are overly intrusive into their energy usage."
Citing health concerns, Columbiaville's Resolution states:"...emissions from smart meters are actually dangerous to their health."
Columbiaville has forwarded House Bill 4916, the Utility Meter Choice Bill, to the Michigan Committee on Energy Policy, and has called upon State Representative and Chairman Aric Nesbitt, the Michigan Public service Commission, Attorney General Bill Schuette, State Senator Mike Green, and State Representative Gary Howell to take all regulatory procedures needed to investigate their concerns about health and welfare.
Gas, electric, and water wireless smart meters come with a history of problems, from chronically overcharging customers, starting fires, being an open-door at our homes for hackers, and destroying people's health.
Columbiaville, Michigan, now supports their citizen's ability to keep their old, safe, and time-tested analog utility meters, and to opt-out of the new wireless smart metering programs without suffering financial penalties or monthly charges.
Please join Columbiaville, Marysville, and the growing list of Michigan communities concerned about these real issues with smart meters. Please pass a Resolution modeling House Bill 4916, for a no-fee analog utility meter choice.

Thank you for listening.  May you all truly be blessed!

Smart Meters Are Opposite of What We've Been Told

Following is the General Public Comment I gave at the City of Battle Creek Commission meeting  Tuesday, April 12, 2016:
Smart meters are being installed by all of our public utility companies in Michigan.  If they have their way, we will all have gas, electric, and water smart meters installed on our homes.  Despite being touted as "more accurate," saving us money, and being safe, their history proves the exact opposite.  Let me explain:
Overcharging ~
Atlanta, Georgia:  Skyrocketing water bills mystify, anger residents after smartmeter installations
Tinley Park, one of Chicago's largest suburbs:  Smart water meters regularly overcharge residents
Grandville, Michigan:  Small business with normally a $250 electric bill receives a $13,000 bill
Kalamazoo, Michigan:  $22,000 electric bill for 2-bedroom home
All of these due to smart meter inaccuracy (disproving the claim that "smart meters are more accurate" than the old analog public utility meters).

Fires ~
Electric smart meters have a history of starting fires.  An LA insurance examiner who has done a lot of research on the 1000's of smart meter fires that have occurred from Maine to California, has seen two patterns arise:
1.       Utility companies remove their smart meter before fire investigation
2.       Utility companies blame the fires on the wiring in the home
(Smart meters have a clear history of starting fires, though utility companies are for the most part, skirting the blame.)

Image from SkyVisionSolutions / smartgridawareness.org
Cyber security ~
FBI warns of cyber threat to electric grid:  On March 31, eleven days ago, the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI began a nationwide program warning utility companies of the dangers from damaging cyber attacks.
Longtime consumer's advocate Ralph Nader warned us about smart meters a couple of years ago.  And once again, Nader is right.
Electric smart meters connect our homes to the Internet of Things 24/7, and can not be turned-off.  Ever.  (Unlike your cellphone, or WiFi, smart meters keep "us" connected.)

Adverse health effects ~
Smart meter dangers, what they knew and when they knew it: Another retired Armed Forces Captain with 22 years experience in Electronic Warfare and Signals Intelligence, comes forward. What he has to say is very damning for smart meters.
Radio frequency radiation is not benign.  If it WERE benign, it wouldn't be radio frequency radiation, would it?
(My personal experience is that smart meters are far from benign.  After being "zapped" by smart meters, I started investigating, and have found document after document, article after article, and study after study, explaining and confirming my experiences of being zapped.)
Now that you know how smart meters expose us to multiple threats; from over-charging, fires, cyber security, and health; the question is, how long before you pass a resolution like Marysville, Michigan did, for a no-fee, analog opt-out?
Thank you for listening ~ May we all truly be blessed!

"Radiofrequency Radiation Is Dangerous - It Could Kill You"

Until about six year ago I had no idea there was a need for “safer technology.”  I’d been using computers ever since the 1970’s, though I ...
