Recently I received the following email from another Michigan resident:
Although I do not want a Smart Meter on my home, I have no real choice. I'm going for the "opt-out" option and all the costly fees associated with it. Any information you can provide regarding this loss of freedom issue would be greatly appreciated. This was my response:
The digital opt-out meter creates "dirty electricity" on your entire house's wiring, effectively making your home one huge antenna. The only way I know of to remedy this (without buying filters and hiring an electrical engineer to verify they are installed correctly) is to turn the electric breakers off at night to bedrooms. I do this every single night, and it has made a world of difference with my sleep. I use a battery operated alarm clock, and keep a flashlight next to my bed in case I need to get up.
I write the "opt-out" extortion fee in a separate check with "Paid Under Protest" written in the memo line.

From what I've heard, legislators are still working on this issue, and some are as concerned about our loss of freedom and property rights as we are! They are on break until September, though, so we probably won't hear much (about HB 4220 - Analog Utility Meter Choice legislation) until then.
In the meantime, if you haven't yet, please call all the Energy Policy Committe members not yet committed to a "YES" vote on HB 4220. Their names and phone numbers are listed in this issue, about 1/2 way down under "District calls": Change through persistence
David Sheldon has a very informative web site about smart meters, in case you haven't see it yet, and you can sign-up for updates from him also: michiganstopsmartmeters.com
I'm also attaching a PDF file of the flyer we've been using, in case you don't have any flyers. Please print some (2-sided, one sheet of paper each) and share them with your neighbors, friends, and family. We've got to keep spreading the word and create a groundswell from the citizens of Michigan.
Let me know if there's anything else I may be able to help you with.

When I get sick, I need sleep. If I can't sleep, it's difficult to recover.
I developed "microwave sickness", also known as electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS), after transmitting utility meters were installed. One of my symptoms was severe insomnia. So turning off the electric breakers at night has made a world of difference for me. And no-thanks to our natural gas company who has no "opt-out" for their "more powerful" transmitting meters that ping every six seconds, I must continue doing so.
5G technology will involve small cell towers installed every two to ten houses, from what I hear. And turning electric breakers off wont help that situation. If you want to learn more about 5G technology, visit whatis5g.info and/or watch Kevin Mottus here.
And remember...
Together we can change the world
